In more air raids over the Gaza strip, in the past hours a Palestinian father lost his wife and son.
According to reports, the mother and son were killed some time after the man stepped out of the house to go and buy biscuits for his son. The air attack was carried out in Khan Yunis.
Heartbreaking photos and footage by Palestinian photographer Belal Khaled show the moment that the father went back home to discover that his son had been killed. He was pictured placing the packet of biscuits in his son’s tiny hand and telling him “Take them with you to heaven.”
It is being estimated that around 150,000 Palestinians are being forced to flee areas in the centre of Gaza, as Israeli forces are advancing towards refugee camps.
The Israeli military has lately expanded its offensive on land to target Bureij and the Nuseirat camps and Maghazi close by.
In further developments, Egypt has confirmed that it has presented a proposal in three stages for a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel. It is being reported that a Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo to respond to the proposal.
Since the beginning of the war on the 7th of October, almost 21,300 people have been killed in Gaza, including thousands of children.
